Below is an e-mail sent yesterday from Stacey Aldrich to all PA public libraries, congratulating the libraries who have submitted surveys so far, and reminding everyone else that the survey must be submitted by August 30.

Hello Everyone!
Congratulations to the 275 libraries listed below that have completed their the Pennsylvania Library Broadband and Internet Access Survey (PALBIS)! Thank you!
This survey is vital to our ability to articulate broadband connectivity in Pennsylvania public libraries, and build resources and connections for increasing capacity. I am looking for 100% participation in this survey, and hope that I can count on your support.

The online survey needs to be completed for each library branch/building in PA. That means if you have a library that has a headquarters and multiple branches, you must report for each location.

SURVEY IMPROVEMENTS
Many thanks to those of you who have given us great feedback for making easier.
• We have attached a paper copy of the survey so that you know what questions will be asked so you can gather the data prior to entering the survey.
• You can now begin the survey and return to complete it later (34 libraries has already taken advantage of this feature)
Below the list of libraries that have completed the online survey is a set of FAQs that may be helpful. If your library’s name is NOT on the list, please remember that we are asking for all surveys to be completed on or before Friday, August 30.

Who should complete the online survey?
-- If your library is a member of a library system that provides technology services, the library system is being asked to complete a separate survey for each of the member libraries.
-- All other libraries should complete a survey for each of your library locations (main and branches).
What if we’re still unsure who should complete the survey?
-- PA has such a diverse library community and we understand there may be confusion about which entity should complete the survey. The easy answer is “When in Doubt, Fill it Out.” After all of the data has been submitted, we will reconcile any duplicates.
What if we’re unsure of how to answer a question?
-- If you’re unsure how to answer a question, mark “I’m not sure” and the survey team will contact you at a later date to try to ascertain the accurate information.
