~ E-rate Sessions for Veterans and Beginners ~
If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to register for the annual PETE & C Education Technology Conference being held February 11 - 13 at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. Program information, including concurrent session workshop descriptions, is now listed on the conference website at http://www.peteandc.org/default.asp.
I will be conducting an E-rate Update Session on Monday, February 12 from 4:15 - 5:15 in Tower 2. The workshop will provide a complete update on all issues relating to E-rate, and will focus on what to do after the Year 10 application window has closed, what additional changes you can make on your Form 471 due to the new Bishop Perry rules, and how to use the Online Item 21 attachment and new Online BEAR Form. I'll also have several copies of the Year 10 E-rate binder available at the workshop if you'd like to pick one up.
For those new to E-rate and missed the fall training sessions, you may want to register for the full-day pre-conference session presented by Debra Kriete, former SLC General Counsel and current E-rate Consultant, on Sunday, February 11 from 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The session will train applicants and service providers on everything there is to know about E-rate, including how to efficiently prepare for and successfully submit each application form (including Forms 470, 471, 486, 472 (BEAR), 473, and 471 Supplemental Certifications), and explain the rules and procedures for the online Item 21 filing, invoicing, allowable corrections, service substitution requests, equipment move notification, appeals, audits, what's eligible for discounts, how to calculate your discount, and much, much more.
To register, go to http://www.peteandc.org/registrationinfo.asp.
Hope to see you there!
