May 23 Teleconference Scheduled on Statewide Telecommunications Network
~ Public Viewing Downlink Sites; Satellite Coordinates Listed ~
~ All Schools, Libraries and Local Government Officials Encourages to Watch ~
In April, the Office of Educational Technology e-mailed a summary of the
recent statewide telecommunications contract and what impact the contract is
likely to have on schools and libraries. To explain this contract and its
impact in greater detail, we have scheduled a live teleconference on May 23
from 9 to noon with the Commonwealth's Office of Information Technology.
More than 25 locations across the state graciously have agreed to be public
viewing sites for any school, library, or local government official, and
those locations are listed below. A few details:
* If you have questions before the teleconference, we encourage you to
e-mail them to jtritt@state.pa.us as soon as possible. If you have
questions during the teleconference, there will be a question and answer
period from 11 - noon when you can call or fax-in your questions. The
call-in and fax-in numbers will be posted during the teleconference.
* If you would like to attend one of the public viewing sites listed below,
you first must register with the site, unless otherwise noted.
* Any school, library or local government is welcome to downlink the
teleconference or record it without prior permission. Satellite coordinates
are posted at the end of this message as well as at:
http://l2l.org/news/newsarticle.html?ID=51
* If you did not receive a copy of the summary or would like to refer to it
prior to the broadcast, visit www.l2l.org/telecom.html.
